This time many controversies were seen in the Maha Kumbh of sports held in Paris, but the case of Indian boxer Vinesh Phogat was different.
Phogat, who reached the final of the 50 kg category of women's wrestling with a brilliant performance, was disqualified just before the final. The reason for this was that her weight was 100 grams more than 50 kg.
According to the rules, she was disqualified . Vinesh also appealed against this but the decision did not come in her favor.
Vinesh was still in Paris with this appeal. She will return to the country on Saturday. But, before that Vinesh Phogat has released an open letter.
In this, she has talked about many issues and personalities including her career. One of the names included in this was Dinshaw Pardiwala who was the chief medical officer of the Indian team in the Paris Olympics.
Vinesh wrote in her letter that for me and I think for many other Indian athletes, he is not just a doctor but like an angel sent by God.
Phogat wrote that when I had given up trusting myself after getting injured, it was his faith, work and belief that gave me the courage to stand on my feet again. He has operated on me three times (both knees and one elbow) and has shown me what the human body can endure.
Phogat further said that his dedication, kindness and honesty towards work is something that no one can doubt, not even God. I will always be grateful to him and his team.
