Vladimir Putin Wants Kamala Harris To Win The US Election

The US presidential election is to be held in November 2024. But the discussion about this election has reached Russia. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin wants Kamala Harris to win the US election. Russian President Putin, in a sarcastic comment on Thursday (August 5), cited Kamala Harris's 'infectious' laughter as one of the reasons for liking her.

President Vladimir Putin's remarks came a day after the US Justice Department charged two Russian media executives with allegedly planning an illegal scheme to influence the November election through pro-Russian propaganda, Reuters reported.

Before President Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race earlier this year, the Russian president preferred Biden over Trump because Biden is a more "old school" politician. After this, he was asked how he sees the US election now? On this, he said that if Biden supports Kamala Harris, then we will do the same. US intelligence agencies believe that Moscow wants Trump to win, because he is less inclined to support Ukraine in the war against Russia.

During this, while elaborating on his views about Kamala Harris, Putin said that she laughs so clearly and contagiously that it means that everything is fine with her. He said that perhaps this means that she will refrain from imposing further sanctions against Russia. On the contrary, Putin said that as President, Trump has imposed more sanctions against Russia than any President before him in the White House.

Kremlin leader Putin further said that ultimately, the choice is up to the American people and we will respect that choice. On the other hand, US intelligence agencies believe that Russia ran a misinformation campaign to promote Trump's campaign against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. At the same time, efforts were made to weaken Clinton's campaign. However, the Kremlin has repeatedly denied interfering in the US elections.

In fact, on Wednesday (September 4), the US Justice Department filed a money laundering case against two employees of Russian state broadcaster RT. It is alleged that a plan was made to hire an American company to create online content to influence this year's elections. However, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday (September 5) that Moscow would target American media in response to this.
