Women's Asia Cup 2024: India In Semi-final. Beats Nepal By 82 Runs


The Indian women's cricket team has reached the semi-finals of the Women's Asia Cup 2024. 

After defeating Pakistan and then UAE in the first match, India registered an easy win over Nepal in their third match on Tuesday.

Despite resting key players, India batted first and scored 178 runs for 3 wickets. Nepal's batting struggled from the beginning and after playing 20 overs, they could score only 96 runs for 9 wickets. India won this match by 82 runs.

India was able to reach this score on the basis of a blistering innings of 81 runs in 48 balls by opener Shefali Verma. This was also the biggest innings of Shefali's career. 

Apart from hitting 12 fours and a six in her innings, Shefali gave the team a great start by sharing 122 runs in 84 balls for the first wicket with D Hemalatha. 

Hemalatha contributed 47 runs with the help of five fours and a six in her 42-ball innings. In the last overs, Jemima Rodrigues played an unbeaten innings of 28 runs with the help of five fours in 15 balls. 

For Nepal, Sita Rana Magar took two wickets and Kavita Joshi took one wicket. The Indian team rested regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur and all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar in this match.
